My friend Brian and I didn’t have plans for Easter Sunday so we decided to go out for brunch…because that’s what you eat on Easter right? LUXBAR, located at 18 E. Bellevue Place in the “Viagra Triangle”, always has a weekend brunch buffet on the second level for only $15. But because this was Easter, LUXBAR had an expanded buffet for $24.50.
Brian and I each had a custom made egg white omelet, and had multiple rounds of french toast, bacon, sausage, waffles, assorted fruits, pastries, hashbrowns, and more. The service was just ok and we at so much that we were full to discomfort in the end…why do I always do that to myself???
I wasn’t able to go home for Easter so I took a couple hours to walk around and take some pictures. My trip started when I got off at the Merchandise Mart “el” stop and took a look at EnV, a residential rental building being built right next to the “el” station.
EnV, which is being developed by Lynd Development Partners, is replacing a surface parking lot at 161 W. Kinzie Street. EnV will have 29 stories with 249 rental apartments, 27,000 square feet of retail and office space, and will be one of Chicago’s first LEED-certified rental properties. Amenities include a rooftop deck and pool, wine storage lockers, a virtual concierge, and something called V-Connect, which is an amenity system from Apple that allows residents to integrate their security and other preferences from their iPod or iPhone. Fancy.
Monthly rental prices at EnV are expected to start at $1,500 for studios, and up to $4,800 for the two penthouses. Check out this article from Business Wire that goes into more detail.
